1. Click the Paclink AGW icon on your Desktop.
Paclink will open with a thin window checking for an update at the Winlink ftp
site. The window will close eventually.
Click
on the Quick Launch icon on the bottom of your Desktop to maximize Paclink AGW.
2. On the Paclink AGW menu bar, Click “File”. Click “Properties”. Verify
that the path to the AGW Packet Engine is correct. If not correct, change path
as needed. This is the only change that might be required in this window.
Click
“Update”
3.
On the Paclink AGW menu bar, Click
“File”. Click “Channels”.
This
screen is used to configure Telnet and Packet paths for Paclink.
Let’s
begin with Telnet.
In
the Channel sub-window, select “Telnet”.
The grayed windows will open.
Enter
the callsign of a Telnet MBO Host in the Channel Name window,
e.g. K4CJX – Telnet
Leave
the Channel Priority as defaulted to 1 and Channel Enabled.
In
the Telnet Properties , enter the following:
Remote
Callsign K4CJX
Remote
Telnet Host k4cjx.no-ip.com
Remote
Telnet Port should be loaded with 12001
Telnet
Password as follows: WL2KTELNETCLIENT
IP
Connection local host
Click
“Add New Channel”
Now
let’s do Packet.
In
the Channel sub-window, select “Packet”.
The grayed windows will open.
Enter
the callsign of a station you want to call in the Channel Name window,
e.g.
WB8AAA
Leave
the Channel Priority as defaulted to 5 and Channel Enabled.
In
the Packet Properties , enter the following:
Remote
Callsign <CALLSIGN> callsign may
include a SSID
AGWPE
Port – should indicate the active port description configured in AGWPE
Click
“Add New Channel”
The
channel priorities tell Paclink AGW which channels to use first. If Telnet is not available, then Paclink AGW
will default to the Packet channel.
If
needed, directly under the Remote Callsign for Packet Properties is a Connect
Script window. This is used only when you need to reach the remote station
through a digipeater, e.g. script example –
c w8abc-10 via wb8tij-5
Close
the Channels screen
Now
it’s time to test the configuration…..
Click
“Connect” on the Paclink AGW menu bar. Click “Connect to……”
On
the drop down menu, highlight “K4CJX Telnet” and click.
You
will see much like this take place in a few seconds:
